For Esme, with Love (no squalor) | Chapel Hill Newborn Photographer

Last fall, as I approached 200 “likes” on Facebook, I asked my fans to help me reach that next milestone, and within a matter of hours, not only was I approaching 200, but I was rapidly closing in on 250! I know you guys are the best – I hope I tell you that often…

A Happy Ending | Hillsborough Newborn Photographer

Does everyone remember Beth? Around this time last year, I had the privilege of telling her story. It wasn’t an easy decision, but knowing how many other families go through what she had gone through, she wanted to share her journey in the hopes that it might help breach the silence that too often accompanies…

Nancy Mathias - Annemie,
As you know, this is one of the hardest things I deal with in my chosen profession. I just read a blog post shared on Facebook by another midwife by a mother whose baby was stillborn. I think one of the MOST important things we do as midwives is to support and try to reassure these women that there is nothing they did to cause this and that there was nothing they could do to prevent it. I am so happy for Beth and her family that their Rainbow baby is here but I know she will always grieve the baby that only lives in her heart. Thank you both for sharing.
Nancy

annemie - Nancy – you raise such an important point, and I apologize that I didn’t point it out in my post! Yes, yes, YES: loss is never erased, no matter how much time passes or what wonderful things may come in the interim. When I think of my own losses now, it is always bittersweet – they were both so hard, and yet in the end, they were both necessary to bring me to where I am today. I shouldn’t speak for Beth, though, so if I did, or appeared to, my apologies, again. And Nancy, thank you for ALL that you do in your wonderful, important line of work! XO

Bert - That was such a touching story that you posted previously. Thank you, and Beth especially, for sharing her heartbreaking story and now this heartwarming episode in her life. Congratulations to Beth and her family.

Angela - Annemie and Beth
I’d never been able to find the post about Beth being the technophobic luddite that I am. I’ve finally had a chance to read and view the pictures. You wrote the story beautifully Annemie. The photos of Beth are somewhat haunting but at the same time she looks stunning. And the last two pictures of the girls, well, what can I say? Those eyes!

Rocco | Chapel Hill Newborn Photographer

It’s been a busy week around here (and I imagine I’m not the only one!), but I didn’t want to let the week go by without at least one post… these are from a beautiful session I had this Fall with Andrew, Kelly, and their sweet (almost) newborn, Rocco. Amidst the hustle and bustle (and…

Joda - What blue eyes! Great compositions. The fourth photos with Rocco looking over his dad’s shoulder… such a knowing expression. And the next one… Rocco in dad’s hands–great. Keep up the wonderful work.

Emberly - Beautiful pictures!
