PortraitPalooza first and second place images

First and second place images in the 2012 PortraitPalooza competition held in Raleigh, NC at 1705 Prime.

From the judges on image 1: “The lighting in this picture is perfect. It gives a little glow in the background, but looks as though there is just a spotlight on her. The ambiance is very sophisticated and even romantic. You really draw your focus the bride in the picture and nothing else in the space, which is great. This was hands down an office favorite.”

On image 2: “The biggest difference is the lighting. The lighting was used in the same space in a completely different way. It created a new atmosphere with the same bride, in the same space, with a completely different look. It’s amazing what a little change in lighting can do to an entire picture. We loved how you can capture the entire bar in this picture as a background, but it doesn’t deter from the focus itself, the bride.”
